How long does it take you to learn backwards crossovers, backwards stroking, t-stop, lunge, and shoot the duck?
I would be staring ISI Beta very soon, and is wondering how long would it take to learn all of these elements required to pass. My friend, Angela said that it’s hard to learn in 7 weeks. She failed Beta once, but then the next session when she was in Beta again, she skipped it so now she’s in Gamma. So is it really that hard? I take classes once a week for 30 minutes. And after that I take a 30 minute break, then skate for about 1 1/2-2 hours every week. For backwards crossovers, I’m slowly learning, pretty good so far, but not left over right. Backwards stroking is so-so, t-stop I can only do on my left leg, not the right, lunge is left only, and shoot the duck I’m scared to. Any tips for passing ISI Beta and how long it took you to pass/ and learn these elements. Thanks. I believe I start on January 9th. Thanks~

Is Pink Floyd's music for fragile people,who feel stressed, unhappy & wanna get high: in other words,for wimps?
It’s music for the depressed, to get them even more depressed. PF fans misconstrue this as being into "deep/spiritual" music; unfortunately, there is no spirituality in cash registers, dogs barking, helicopter sounds, classroom children or depressing lyrics or sounds etc. PF is not happy/optimistic man’s music, they don’t even know how to rock out. Look at Syd Barrett, its the same with PF’s music. It’s not a cure for depression, its an aggravator. People used to think LSD (in the counterculture era of the ’60’s) made them spiritual, same thing with PF’s music. Paranoid hippies trying to decipher everything in the world rather than looking at their sorry selves.

I hate today’s music, I love Led Zeppelin because they did not make music for wimps or fragile people. And about the bands themselves, look at how the other members left Syd Barrett hanging and exploited his condition to keep themselves afloat ("Wish you were here", "Shine on you crazy diamond"). Don’t tell me they really cared about him, Syd’s family hated them all. And look at how they kicked Roger out of the band later, they weren’t even friends. They were cheap media whores; who used their DSOTM t-shirts, "Wall" the movie, lasers, animal/helicopter sounds, cash registers etc to compensate for their lack of talent. They had no real integrity. When John Bonham died, Led Zeppelin did not do any tours in respect of him. Now THAT’S integrity. They weren’t media sell-outs, they actually didn’t want all the commercial spotlight, never made a movie about themselves or sold t-shirts.

In Watchmen, why did they make it Jon's watch that he had to go back for in the Intrinsic Field Generator?
In the novel/comic, Janey Slater has her watch stepped on by a man at the fair, and Jon Osterman fixes it, but then leaves it in the Intrinsic Field Generator.
It might seem like a tiny little thing in the story (compared to the ending which is obviously changed from the original) but only a couple more shots would be able to show that Jon was a true "watchman" even before he turned into Dr Manhattan… it’s pretty symbolic, yet the filmmakers left it out and just made Jon say he forgot his watch?

Very true, the minimized role in the film did take away from most of the symbolism, but the fact that forgetting his watch is the reason that he no longer perceives time as we do is pretty heavy in it’s own right. Also, the name of the book wasn’t really referring to time (although that was a theme in the story) it refers to the characters, and how before the story that’s what they were called. (this was implied, never stated) Another theme of the series was "Who Watches The Watchmen?" which WAS stated in the story, about how they’d gone from heroes to oppressors. The title had several meanings.

i need to sugar-detox..tips?sick of feeling like this!!?
i neeeed to detox from sugar, im 23 and i prob have a coupl of choc bars a day and 2 or more fizzy drinks a day. i constantly feel bloated and gross and people think im pregnant! im just sick of feeling heavy and bloated. im not huge though..im 160cm tall and 61kg,an Australian size 10 (the doc said i should be 55kg )
Ive alwatys had a podgey belly (at age 18 i burst in2 tears at a liquor shop when being told by the lady in the line behing me "i shouldnt be drinking in my condition" and back then i was only 53kg.
My job ion retail is often quiet and all the girls will say "choccy time" my body is scheduled to it and believes it cant get thru the day without it.I make excuses to myself "need it today cos its monday, need it today cos its wednesday and humpday, need it thursday to last late night trading, need it friday to get me thru the last day" and thats nerly every day lol.

can i get 1080p video streaming from zune on my xbox 360 with component cables?
I have not been able to get a straight answer on this. i am wondering if i will be able to watch movies in 1080p with component cables (not hdmi). my 360 is older so i do not have an hdmi port. my tv does do 1080p with component and i have already tried vga, but it does not look as good because my tv will not let me change color settings. a lot of times when i try to watch videos i’ve downloaded on my xbox, it will change the picture to 1080i. i have heard things about component having copyright restrictions that hdmi doesn’t (or something like that) so i am wondering if it will not let me stream in full 1080p because of this.

Component cables do not support 1080p regardless of device or brand, it maxes out at 1080i.

Also remember that there isn’t much 1080p content outside of blu ray. Most HD content that you download is 720p and 1080i.

Either way, you wont’ be able to send any 1080p content to your TV until you get a HDMI connection.

There are so many re-works on that movie (it’s not even funny) because it was so controversial at the time it came out and for a good decade after it was originally released.

I remember seeing in the early version when the regan Character does the spider walk, she flips on a face down position and stick out a snake like tongue out of her mouth. On another re-worked version, all it show is blood coming out of regan’s mouth.
